For example people seem to think that when sheep meet in a group they are trying to tell the world it\u2019s going to rain: When sheep gather in a huddle, tomorrow we will have a puddle. However in my experience when sheep gather together in that way they are much more likely to be having an important board meeting about the quality of the grass or the state of the fences or how to protect themselves against foxes. I mean when the artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timespan.org.uk\/arts\/artists-in-residence-2\/anthony-schrag\/\" target=\"_blank\">Anthony Schrag<\/a> gave his <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/58201992\" target=\"_blank\">talk about the Highland Clearances<\/a>, you humans had all disappeared and it seemed we were the only ones that were listening!<\/p>\n<p>So this is a little poem I wrote to give you another perspective on us woolly creatures:<\/p>\n<p><em>Please don\u2019t underestimate a sheep<br \/>\nwe\u2019re not only there to help you sleep.<br \/>\nOr give you tips about the rain,<br \/>\ndo not assume a woolly brain.<br \/>\nWe may seem clumsy, thick and round<br \/>\nbut our hooves are firmly on the ground.<br \/>\nWe know our landscape far and wide,<br \/>\nmore than any human guide.<br \/>\nWe\u2019re there to warm you when you\u2019re cold<br \/>\nand bring you homewards to the fold.<br \/>\nWhen you lose yourself in pastures steep,<br \/>\ndo not despair, just find a sheep \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Humans seem to have lots of wrong ideas about sheep so I thought I might take a moment to put the record straight.
